Spulciando tra vecchi file "bibliofiliaci" del mio pc ne ho aperto uno con il titolo "miscellanea di rarissimi".

Più che rarissimi avrei dovuto mettere costosissimi... poiché la lista annoverava Tolkien nell'edizione Unwin o Lolita nella prima americana (1955). Tutti con prezzi a tre zeri.

In mezzo c'era pure questa prima di Kesey, da cui è stato tratto il film di successo con Jack Nicholson.

So che gli italiani lo leggono ancora, anche se si trova con facilità e non è raro.

Entrambe le copertine però mi sembrano bruttissime... con la differenza che quella americana può costarvi fino a 10.000 euro se firmata dall'autore.

Going through my old bibliophile folders on my computer, I have found one named “Very rare miscellanea”.

Instead of “very rare” I should have written “very expensive”! Among others, the list features Tolkien in the edition by Unwin and Lolita in the first American edition, from 1955. All of them have 4-digit price tags.

On the list I also found this first edition of Kesey, upon which the famous movie starring Jack Nicholson is based.

I know Italians still read it, even though it's easy to find and is not rare.

But I have to confess I find both covers incredibly ugly… with the small difference that a signed copy of the American version may cost you up to €10.000.
