Le pregiate edizioni di Colette

Quando si entra in questo ormai leggendario negozio di Rue Saint Honoré, si ha la sensazione immediata di trovarsi in un luogo in cui è concentrato tutto lo scibile del cult momentaneo: dalla musica di nicchia, a curiosi oggetti di design, mostre fotografiche di artisti emergenti e edizioni numerate di grande interesse.

Inutile dire che sono quest'ultime a catalizzare la mia attenzione!

L'ultima volta che ci andai mi colpì particolarmente un libriccino in ottavo di colore blu di un fotografo londinese dallo stile eclettico e originale, che mischia immagini dal sapore antico a nature morte molto curiose.  Il suo nome è Peter Watkins.

Il libro, edito in 50 copie numerate e composto da poche pagine, fa parte di una collana di libriccini di fotografi emergenti tutti uguali nell'impaginazione.
Questi testi hanno la particolarità di presentare una foto originale a laser dell'artista incollata sulla copertina (nel testo la cosa non è dichiarata, ma io avevo accanto un fratello molto esperto di fotografia!). Un oggetto davvero interessante, edito da una casa editrice, la francese JSBJ, che promuove l'arte della fotografia.

Purtroppo io me lo sono fatta sfuggire a causa del solito "torniamo a prenderlo dopo".

Per gli indecisi e gli smemorati, se si ha la fortuna di trovarlo ancora disponibile, esiste il negozio online dal quale è possibile acquistare - quasi - tutta la merce esposta nel negozio.

Concludendo, consiglio vivamente di tenere d'occhio questa "macchina di sogni" che è Colette. 

Non solo per i libri, ma anche per i nuovi talenti della pittura, della fotografia, della musica e di tutto quello che fa tendenza, ma che grazie alla sua qualità, forse avrà modo di sopravvivere a questi tempi di consumismo e sovrapproduzione.

When you enter this now almost legendary shop situated in Rue Saint Honoré, you feel that you are located in a space where is concentrated every cult object of the moment: from unconventional music, to curious design objects, photographic exhibitions of emergent artists and very precious and limited book editions.
No need to say that my attention is all to those ones!
The last time I went I particularly liked a small blue octavo book realized by a photographer from London, who has an eclectic and original style, which mixes old-style images to still-life paintings. His name is Peter Watkins.
The book, printed in 50 numbered copies and composed by a small number of pages, is part of a book series of emerging artists, all same looking.
These texts have the particularity of an artist's original laser photography pasted on the cover (in the text this fact is not told, but I was in my brother's company, who is an expert of photography!).
A very interesting object, printed by the french JSBJ, which promotes the art of photography.
Unfortunately I missed the book because of the usual "we are going to come back to buy it".
For those who are hesitant or absent-minded like me, if you are lucky to find it still available, there is an online shop which is selling  almost everything from the shop.
To conclude, I really suggest Colette, a real "dream machine".
Not only for the books, but also for new talents in art, photography, music and everything cool but which also, thanks to the quality, has a chance to survive the consumerism and overproduction of our days.
