A small cute note from Kerouac's world: his first work, mostly autobiographical, published with a fake name.
The protagonist of the novel is the first Beat group of early 40s in New York, like Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs.
Scribner's refused it, although their motivations were related to economical reasons: the book was way too long and so very expensive. After later problems the book then came to the current publisher, but it wasn't really a success.
Currently you can find also for 150-180 euros, if without the dust jacket also for less.
