Sometimes I like to explore new worlds of books, to discover new universes unknown to me but, on the contrary, very known to lovers of some genres I don't know. So it happens that I buy some absurd books, realized by absurd but intriguing people.
This is the case of WAR + PENIS that I bought a while ago, realized by the comic creators Frédéric Fleury (French) and Johnny Ryan (American). The choice was of two books, depending on if you wanted the cover with the first or the second illustrator winning.
The authors defined it "offensive, disgusting, scandalous", but in fact it's coming from two famous pencils and a niche publisher: The Milan Review.
This firm, having shops in New York, Los Angeles and many towns in the world, is producing especially a magazine, but sometimes they create also quality and underground editions (at the link you can visit their website, which has also an online shop).
Milaneses that are working with Americans, who are publishing extraordinary books and who are doing it quite well (and not always through a provocation). Not bad isn't it?
Their last thing came out recently: the first italian Johnny Ryan's graphic novel, Il Pozzo di Sangue.
No need to say that I immediatelly bought it!
