Francesca Woodman, Some Disordered Interior Geometries, New York 1981 (immagini dal link) |

Francesco Woodman (Denver 1958 - New York 1981) was an American photographer with a short but intense life, that left a deep mark on the worldwide photography.
Intimistic black and white images, mostly concentrated on her own or female subjects: this was her art, which go for extremely high prices at auction.
The book I'm suggesting was conceived as a sort of a very suffered notebook, full of annotations and sketches alternated by 16 original gelatin silver photographs. The main concept is the introduction of Euclidean geometry, although is much more than that.
It's the only one that she ever realized, published the same year of her death in 1981, caused by suicide. This is one of the reasons that this book is worth so much: an anastatic copy of it reaches the top ten of the most expensive book sold by Abebooks in 2013 (17,500 dollars). Proving that photography books are conquering a huge number of public, in the wake of the general interest in photography about which I already wrote and I will do again.
