Nella lista dei 100 artisti da comprare stilata dalla rivista Arte nel numero di Agosto 2010 - che conservo gelosamente e consulto spesso - c'è anche il fotografo italiano Massimo Vitali, nato a Como nel 1944.

Le sue fotografie hanno la caratteristica di essere grandi, di avere come soggetto larghe distese popolate da persone indaffarate (ad esempio in una spiaggia o in una piscina) e di essere montate su metallo e protette da plexiglass. Il suo record d'asta è di 96 mila euro, ma una sua foto è acquistabile anche a 3000 euro.

Per quanto riguarda i suoi cataloghi, tra i più importanti la sua prima monografia intitolata Landscape with figures, realizzata in occasione della sua prima personale del 2004. Al momento si è già fatta piuttosto rara e ben valutata (80-200 euro), ma credo sia possibile reperirla a meno con un pò di pazienza.

Il 2004 fu per Vitali un anno fortunato, poiché pochi mesi dopo si susseguirono altre tre mostre a lui dedicate in Europa e in Italia. Questo raro poster tratto dalla mostra di Oostende in Belgio è attualmente in vendita online in copia unica.

In the list of the 100 artists "absolutely-to-buy" created by Arte magazine in August 2010 - which I gelously conserve and consult oftenly - there is also the italian photographer Massimo Vitali, born in Como in 1944.

His photographs are always big, they have as object large spaces populated by busy people (for example on the beach or at the pool); they have a metal structure and they're protected by a plexiglass panel. His auction record is of 96 thousand euros, but you can buy one of his works also for 3000 euros.

For what concerns his catalogues, one of the most important is the monograph titled Landscape with figures, realized on the occasion of his first solo-exhibition in 2004. Currently it has become quite rare and good estimated (80-200 euros), but I think you can find it for less if you have a little bit of patience.

The 2004 was very lucky for Vitali though, for he obtained three more solo-exhibitions in the same year, through Europe and Italy.
